Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman has been a distinguished professor of psychology since 1993 and director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She is widely known for her pioneering modern research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court settings. Prof. Goodman has published extensively as well as received numerous grants. She has also been recognized with numerous national and international prizes. She has consulted with various countries and agencies around the world on policies and research on child abuse in the justice system. Additionally, she provides consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) and is a part of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
